Ashley Gutierrez
MSW, LCSW
Hi, I’m Ashley! Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Trauma therapist. Couples therapist.
Professional pattern interrupter.
I specialize in developmental trauma and relationships–which is a clinical way of saying: we unpack the stuff that shaped you so it stops ruining your life.
Attachment wounds. Communication spirals. People-pleasing hangovers. Choosing the same partner in a different font. Nervous systems that never learned how to exhale.
about me

Founder of Root & Rise Counseling
We work on that, together.
I am also someone who has done my own deep healing work around early developmental trauma, disordered eating, and obsessive compulsive patterns. Coming from developmental and childhood trauma in all forms, I felt a calling to provide a safe space for people to learn how to break generational curses and heal their inner childhood wounds. I strive to be a person that I wished I had when I was younger.
So I don’t just understand this work academically, I understand it in my bones. Healing isn’t theoretical to me. It is lived, practiced, uncomfortable, nonlinear, and very real.
Therapy with me is relational, honest, reflective–and yes, sometimes a little yappy (tell me when to land the plane). Expect psycho-education, empathy, humor, and reminders that you are not crazy, your nervous system adapted to survive.

Our Work, Together
Our work together is a space where you don’t have to over-explain yourself to be understood. If you’re craving a place where you can exhale, feel genuinely safe, and still be gently challenged to grow, you’re in the right room. This is where honesty meets empathy — where we name the hard things without shame and build on your strengths, not just your symptoms.
You’ll be met with trauma-informed care, grounded insight, and yes, a little bit of the “woo” if that speaks to you. The goal isn’t to fix you — it’s to help you feel steady enough, supported enough, and brave enough to become a stronger, more self-trusting version of yourself.
